Treat your Surface to a Royal Facelift
We are confident that we can repair any problems you encounter with your hardscape surfaces. Whether it’s interlocking pavers or flagstones, patios or driveways – our experienced team of highly trained experts will give you the best advice and offer solid solutions to correct any problem?
Interlocking Pavers
It’s a fact that pavers will provide years of service and enjoyment when laid correctly. However, Interlocking failure can occur and cause noticeable problems over time if the sub-base becomes saturated and eroded through water ingress. When this happens, the first signs are usually deformation and sinking, followed by puddling when it rains. As soon as you see these first signs – get it repaired immediately. If left in this condition it will become unstable and dangerous and may need to be completely replaced if left unchecked.
When pavers begin to sink, and puddles start to form, it’s a definite sign that the sub base is failing. Our solution is to lift the problem areas and add HPB or High-Performance Base to existing bases, which self-levels, self-drains and self-compacts, providing a highly stable base to re-lay the interlocking pavers, minimizing future movement.
Once the pavers are cleaned and sealed for future protection against water penetration, the overall appearance and safety of the area will be back to its former glory.
Root damage
Tree and shrub roots will often encroach beneath the base of paved areas, causing untold damage. Never underestimate the severity or reach of plants and that grow next to your driveway. Over time they can compromise the integrity of the sub-base and lead to irreparable damage in the future. Depending on the size and location or trees and plants, it is possible to remove these insidious roots and repair the sub-base. Once dealt with, the area will show minimal evidence of the damage caused.
Maintaining Your Surfaces
It’s important to know that interlocking and stamped concrete loses a great deal of colour if not maintained properly. Leading manufacturers advise that you seal your surfaces every two to four years depending on the material and sealers applied. Naturally, this recommendation makes great economic sense when you consider the cost of the initial investment in such a high-end purchase. That’s why protecting interlocking with premium-grade sealers is essential to the life of your surface. Wet-look and natural-look sealers are high in acrylics. They work by creating a protective, transparent coating that also enhances the original colour. Premium grade sealers also reduce oil and dirt penetration, making cleaning easier. Because the sealers penetrate deep into the surface – maximum adhesion and durability are maintained. Unlike cheaper alternatives, Premium grade sealers will not peel or discolour and are highly resistant to the elements (freeze-thaw cycles, sun, rain, etc.), calcium and salt and hot tire pick-up.
